John L. Miller, Ph.D.

 

 

 

Dr. Miller is an executive coach with over 25 years of experience as a CEO and senior executive. He specializes in the areas of improving business results, increasing managerial competence, leading effectively, and creating productive interpersonal relationships. He also works in the area of assertiveness, executive presence, resolving conflict, managing anger, and building self-confidence. Most of his clients are at the "C-Suite" level and are located throughout the United States.

 

Dr. Miller’s corporate background includes being one of the original founders and Senior Vice President of Health Net, one of the largest HMOs in the nation. During his tenure he oversaw a period of rapid growth that was unparalleled in the company’s history. In addition, he served as the President and CEO of a $1B operating subsidiary of a major health care system. He also served as the CEO of a Goldman Sachs portfolio company where he presided over a national organization that grew quickly through multimillion dollar mergers and acquisitions.

 

As an executive coach Dr. Miller utilizes his extensive and practical business background in helping his clients deal with the complex challenges of managing a successful business. While most of his clients are senior executives at Fortune 500 companies, he also works with smaller firms.

 

Dr. Miller holds an MBA, a Masters degree in organization development, and a Ph.D. degree in the field of human and organization behavior. He has authored numerous articles and contributed to several books. His latest book is titled, Coach Yourself to Succeed @ Work. In addition to his writing, he has been a featured speaker at national seminars and symposiums. Dr. Miller is an Associate Professor at Biola University and teaches graduate classes in the area of Leadership.
